Apron Card

I can't believe a week has gone by! We have begun our busy spring with soccer, baseball and may school activities.

Aprons seem to be a big thing right now and I saw someone made an apron card using a template. As I began to thing about it, I thought that I could make a cute apron using the large scallop circle die for the Big Shot. So, here is my creation. I hope you enjoy it:)

Beautiful Wings Embossilit

This is another clean and simple card! The butterflies were made by using the Beautiful Wings embossilit (I have used this embossilit tons!). I dry embossed the white cardstock with the polka dot embossing folder, added some olive satin ribbon and tied with a button and linen thread.

Mother's Day

Mother's Day will be here soon. I thought the flower pot card would be perfect for my mom, since we often give her a gift card for a greenhouse. The envelope scrapbook was given to me from my good friend and fellow demo, Brenda Hukriede (anyone in the Eau Claire, WI area looking for an awesome demo, get in contact with her!). This scrapbook/card is made from envelopes as the name implies:) On the three inserts of each envelope, you could place a picture or write a note. Neither the card or the scrapbook would have to be for Mother's Day, just an idea. If you would like to learn how to make these, email me to sign up for my class that I am having Friday, April 23.

Birthday Invite

The card on the left is the card I made for Lily's birthday invites this year. It uses the owl from the stamp set Fox & Friends. The owl has some glitter on its body to jazz it up a little. The card on the right is the card she used for her thank yous. This layout is one that I come back to again and again. I pulled the colors for the invite from the Sweet Pea designer paper.

Designer Paper

The designer paper does all the work on this card! I added some glitter to the Pink Flamingo designer paper, ran the white cardstock through the big shot to emboss with polka dots, and of course had to add a button to the ribbon (I'm addicted to buttons!). I thought this card would be perfect for a teenage girl. My husband wasn't too crazy about the colors/brightness, but I like it:)

Square Scallop Set of Notecards

Sometimes I wonder what I would do without my Big Shot. I LOVE it! and as you can tell use it a lot.

These cards use the scallop square die and flower folds die along with flower fusion felt flowers. These cards were designed by Andrea Walsford and her blog can be found here. I fell in love with the bright colors. I think a set of these would make a perfect little gift.

Big Shot Projects & Update

I'm rescheduling my Big Shot class. My migraine continues to linger today, but I was able to get out of bed at least! And, my daughter is at the doctors right now getting tested for strep, so I didn't want anyone getting sick. I'll let you know the new date of the class. I'll post it here and if you are on my email list, I will send you an email. I plan to have it this next week. Anyway, on to things that are more fun....the remaining projects and card that you will make at the class.

First up, the card. This card uses the movers and shapers as it was "intended" to be used by punching out a window.

Next, is a box made from the Movers and Shapers die. I found the directions for this on dostampings blog. It is so easy to make and will fit a large Cadbury candy bar.

The last project uses the milk carton die. It is so cute! It is small, but good things come in small packages! Notice the button flower:) There are some other fun things you can do with this die. If I have time to play, I'll make sure I post some pictures of them.

Thanks for taking a peek!

Big Shot Class - Card

This card uses the Movers and Shapers die. The neat thing about this card is that you only cut part of the image which makes a neat fold/window card. The designer paper used on these cards are from the Sweet Pea Designer Pack. Below are a couple more pictures of the felt barrettes that I showed yesterday. I was able to take them in better light today!

Big Shot Class - Felt Barrettes

This is one of the projects that will be made at my Big Shot class on Friday....Felt Barrettes! These are so adorable. Each person will make one of the barrettes using the Mover and Shaper Die. It is amazing how quick they are to make using the Big Shot. Stampin' Up's sweet pea stitched felt work perfectly on these. If you would like more info on the class, contact me.

Butterfly Embossilit

This card is a CASE. When I saw it, I the butterflies seem to pop on the suede cardstock. The Butterfly emobssilit is one of my favorites as it is so easy to use with the Big Shot and the embossed butterflies make a definite statement. The colors I used on the butterflies were tempting turquoise, rich razzleberry, so saffron and old olive.

Cards for Sale!

Here are pictures of the featured cards I have for sale in April. Prices range from $2.00-$2.50. Questions? Contact me.

Color Renovation

Stampin' Up is introducing 5 new colors in our core color collection and bringing back 10 retired in-colors! There will now be 4 color families with 10 colors in each. The 5 new in-colors that will be introduced with the new catalog will stay for a 2 year period with 5 more being introduced the following year. With these new colors, there will be colors that are retiring, so if one of your favorite colors is retiring, you may want to stock up on cardstock, ink refill and accessories in that color. Now, I DO NOT like change (yes, I feel that strong about change), however, I'm excited over this:) I'm ready for some new colors. Many of the colors that are retiring are ones that I hardly ever use. Bring on the color.....click on the charts below to enlarge them to get a better view of the new colors and the ones that will be retiring.

Spotlight on Fresh Cuts

This is not a new technique, but it is fun to go back and revisit some "oldies". The spotlight works great to highlight a certain part of an image. It is a great way to make a wow effect with little effort! This card uses the stamp set Fresh Cuts. To highlight the flower, I stamped on a scrap piece of cardstock, colored the image in with watercolor crayons and then punched it out with the cirlce punch and layered it onto a larger pumpkin pie circle punch.
