Fifth Avenue Floral

I combined two of my favorites (well, my favorites at this moment!)...Fifth Avenue Floral stamp set and the Daisy Die for the Big Shot. I stamped the flowers in Rich Razzleberry, So Saffron, Melon Mambo and Old Olive. In the middle of the flowers is dazzling diamonds glitter. I used a Summer Sun corduroy button for the center of the daisy (these corduroy buttons are retiring at the end of June!). This first card is a one layer card, but the second one I stepped up a bit by adhering the stamped panel to Bermuda Bay card stock. Which one do you like?

Happy Father's Day!/SCIC07

Happy Father's Day!

I made this card for the SCIC07 found here. I dug into some old patterned paper to get amethyst and so saffron which was a tad darker than I wanted the yellow to be. I really like this layout and will definitely being using it again. These colors are not the typical colors or color combo that I use, but I guess that is why it is called a challenge, right?!?!

Thanks for visiting my blog~

Watercolor Wonder

This is another card that was made at stamp club on Monday. The flowers from 5th Avenue flower were embossed in white and then I used the Taken with Teal crayon and blender pens to color them in. I love the shading you can get with the watercolor crayons. I had not used them for awhile and forgot how much I like them! Also, coloring is very relaxing:)

Thanks for looking! Have a great day...the sun is finally shining here:)

Emerging Color

This is one of the cards we made at stamp club on Monday night. It is beautiful, but relatively easy to do...just my style! To make this, stamp the Medallion stamp set in versamark onto Bella Bleu designer paper, emboss the image using clear embossing powder. Then, brayer over the whole piece of designer paper with chocolate chip ink. The embossed image will resist the ink! Take a tissue and wipe off the medallion since it will have a little bit of chocolate chip ink sitting on top of it. That's it! The idea from this card was taken from one I saw on Mary Brown's blog.

Sweet Pea

I made this card for the SCIC06, but decided to go with the card I posted yesterday. This card uses the retired sweet pea felt and designer paper. This layout is from a card in the new SU catalog. Thanks for looking!~

I'm Back!!!

Where have I been you ask? I wish I could say on a wonderful vacation:) However, I have been here, just not blogging, only trying to survive! I've had some busy weeks with the end of school craft projects that I did for my children's classes, two of my nieces graduated (I helped with their parties...250 truffles and 6 pans of bars), and a Noah's birthday party as well as a trip to Duluth to see family. I "think" I'm caught up with my sleep, but with the rainy weather, I could take a nap right now and it's only 11:30! Anyway, on to more interesting things....

If you haven't already done so, check out the retiring stamp sets and accessories. There are A LOT of items retiring. You can place an order online at my website or email me your order.
I just received my pre-order from the new catalog and I want to share with you that the new colors are BEAUTIFUL and the catalog is AMAZING! I always think that there will not be many things I will want, but my wishlist is looong:)

The pictures below are from a gift that we gave to Noah's student teacher. It is a journal for her to record stories about teaching she doesn't want to forget and/or for her to have her students write messages to her in. Noah picked out the paper (non-SU) he thought represented her and I think he got it right, since she said her favorite color is pink! I stamped using the By Definition stamp set and adhered 2 scallop squares together from the SU scallop punch to make a rectangle. I wanted to have a "cute" bag, so I decided to decorate a blank gift bag using the Big Shot Flower Folds Die (I'm loving this die!). I layered the different size flowers and then punched a circle for the middle and raised it with dimensionals. Clean and simple, just how I like it!

Here is a close-up of the flower. Yes, I was in a hurry to take the picture, and I noticed it is a little blurry.
Have a great Saturday! We are going to swim at the YMCA this afternoon:)
