Baby Whale

Can I buy some time?!?! I have many ideas for cards I would like to make, but not enough time:(  Thus, the inconsistent postings lately. The card below is for a sketch challenge found here, CCMC192 and a color challenge found at Just Add Ink, #108.  I punched a 1 3/4 inch circle and adhered the pool party zig-zags that I die cut using the Tasteful Trim die. I stamped the whale from Fox & Friends in Island Indigo and then cut it out. I punched with my paper piercer around the circle and added the banner made from the Petal Cone die with "Welcome Baby" from the Short & Sweet stamp set stamped in Early Espresso. A button was added to finish it off. This is a layout I plan to come back to as I have other cards I would like to make using it.  Thanks for stopping by!

Personal Note: My niece's basketball team made it to STATE!  We are very excited! We will have family staying with us, so I have a list of things I want to get done before they arrive tomorrow night. The only bummer is that my niece tore a ligament in her ankle, so she is limited on the amount of time she can play:( I did get samples of the Prom invites done and one has been chosen. Since they needed them like yesterday, I am planning on trying to get them all stamped and completed by Saturday. OK, I'm off to tackle my list and try to get outside to enjoy this beautiful weather.

Gift on the Card

The card below has an extra treat for the recipient since the felt flower is a barrette! The flower was made using the Flower Folds Die for the big shot and then hot gluing it all together. Felt circles were attached to the back to hold the barrette in place. For the card itself, the base is Early Espresso card stock with a piece of Blushing Bride card stock attached. The flower is "attached" to the card by the barrette being clipped onto the Blushing Bride Stitched-Poly Ribbon.

Barrette detached from the card.

Back of  barrette.

What's happening in my life....(in case you want to know!) Today I hope to get some mock-ups of prom invites completed. The kids are on Spring Break. My niece is playing a b-ball game tonight, and if they win they will make it to state!!! The Gopher Basketball team is playing their second game in the Big 10 Tourney. (Yes, I am a basketball freak!) The house needs to be cleaned and organized...yeah, that is one thing that probably won't get done:)

There is still time to sign up for Sunday's class!

Thanks for stopping by and have a marvelous day:)

Card Class March 11

Below are the cards that you can make at my card class on Sunday, March 11. Make four cards for $7.00. Please RSVP by emailing (karieklundstamps@gmail.com) or call me if you are able to come. Everyone is welcome and feel free to invite your friends!

Try out the cherry-scented embossing powder on this card:

The typewriter from the stamp set You're My Type is featured on this card. There are a variety of sentiments that will fit. Riding Hood Red Pleated Satin Ribbon is added to this card.

This card is a  CASE from Brenda Hukriede. The floral image in the top right hand corner is stamped in Pear Pizzaz. It is brighter than the photo:)  Pearls will be added to the designer paper...I just couldn't find my pearls and wanted to get this posted!...it's time to clean my stamp area!

This is one of my favorite kite cards I have made.

I hope to see you Sunday!

Lace Ribbon Punch

The Lace Ribbon Border punch was on one of my first orders when this catalog came out last July, but I haven't really used it until this card. I used it to punch a border out of Pink Pirouette, Melon Mambo and Wild Wasabi cardstock. I adhered the punched borders to white cardstock and then punched a flower out with the Blossom Bouquet Triple Flower. The flower punch from Itty Bitty Shapes Punch pack was used to punch out a melon mambo flower for the center of the large flower. Dazzling Diamonds Detail was added to the small flower. Birthday Wishes was stamped with Black Staz On. The colors were from Stamping 411: Color Inspiration #168

Thanks for looking!

Balloons & Clouds

It seems a lot of cards I make lately have clouds on them! The clouds on this card were stamped in Not Quite Navy using the cloud stamp from Send Me Soaring stamp set. I stamped the balloons from Crazy for Cupcakes in basic gray on the white cardstock and then stamped the balloon on Rich Razzleberry, Tempting Turquoise and Lucky Limeade cardstock. I cut the balloons out and then stamped them in Craft White using the Polka-dot Background stamp. Happy Birthday was stamped in each of the three colors. I need some birthday cards, so I may need to make a few more of these as it is a CAS card. I'm linking this up to the Clean & Simple FTL179 and the challenge at Stampin' Royalty SR#113.

To clarify, the stamped layer is adhered to a white card. Maybe I should have sponged around the top layer?  What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by....

Clouds and a Kite

Yeah! Two posts in a row:) One of my favorite stamps sets in the mini is the Send Me Soaring stamp set, so I hope you are not tired of it yet.  The base of this card is Crumb Cake with a layer of Pool Party cardstock adhered to it with dimensionals. I sponged the crumb cake and pool party cardstock with white craft ink. White cardstock was dry embossed using the Square Lattice embossing folder and then punched with the Cupcake punch to make the clouds. I stamped the kite in Island Indigo and added Dazzling Diamonds Details to the polka dots which I don't think show too well in the picture. Island Indigo Baker's Twine was added for the string of the kite. I made the banner with the Petal Cone Die and stamped the saying on it. A red button was added. Turquoise/blue and red seem to be a popular color combo lately. The sketch for this card was from SQSC 28.

We were unfortunately home early today from Lily's b-ball tournament as they lost their first game! It was so disappointing:( They were down by 10 at half-time and lost by 4.

Happy 10th Birthday today to Lily! She is my sporty daughter that loves b-ball and soccer! She loved the card that I made for her (it can be found here). When she opened it, she said, "Sweet!" and her eyes lit up. She said the card was "awesome," and I should make more of them:)  Love this girl....

Where Have I Been?

You may have noticed a lack in my postings lately! I'm still here... alive and well:) The past couple of weeks have been busy ones. Lily had a basketball tournament in Rochester last weekend, and her last tournament is this weekend. I have also been subbing three days a week. Throw in a migraine, a cold, basketball practices, in-laws at our house and a birthday to the mix. All of that has been cutting into my stamping time! I hope to get back on track soon.

I will be having a CLASS on SUNDAY, MARCH 11 at 7:00 pm, so mark your calendars!

Thanks for stopping by to check out my blog.

Sale-a-bration Flowers

This card was made by using sketch challenge #230 at Mojo Monday. I used the Square Scallop Die to cut the base and added a layer of Calypso Coral that was dry embossed using the Square Lattice Die. The flowers from Fresh Vintage Stamp Set (SAB) were stamped in Lucky Limeade, Calypso Coral and Pool Party and then punched out using the Blossom Bouquet Triple Layer Punch. I added Everyday Enchantment Brads (SAB) to the middle of the flowers. A layer of designer series paper from the Everyday Enchantment pack (SAB) was punched with the Scallop Border punch and adhered on top of the  Calypso Coral.
