Noah turned 7 in May and wanted a "sports" birthday party, so this is what I came up with.
I made the invitation similar to a baseball ticket. The baseball was cut using my circle scissors plus, drawing on the stitching and then die cutting the number 7 with my Big Shot Alphabet Numbers Simple (it is perfect because he turned 7 and Joe Mauer's number is 7!). The info on the inside was typed on the computer and I used our house number for the "seat" info, our street address for the "row", etc. I then mailed these in clear envelopes to his friends. Yes, you can mail cards in clear envelopes. I had the back of the invite on the front, so it was a solid color and then attached an address label to the outside of the clear envie. For the return address labels, I punched a circle out of adhesive sheets, drew the stitching on so it looked like a baseball and wrote our return address on it. I'm not sure if the boys appreciated the invites, but most of the moms loved them!
The thank you was a pocket card. Once again I made a baseball for the front, and then stamped Go Team in red from the Sporting set (now retired) on the part that pulled out. I had Noah sign his name on the thank you card and I filled out the thank yous as he opened the gifts and sent them home with the kids at the end of the party. The button was tied on using white thread. I thought it was "boyish" enough, but also added a bit of "cuteness" to the thank you.
Below is a picture of the goody bags. I carried over the baseball and #7 from the invite and thank you. I adhered the baseball onto brown lunch sacks (nothing fancy!).
This is a picture of the back of the goody bag. I stamped All Star from the Sporting set onto adhesive sheets and punched it out. This kept the bags closed.
The next pictures are of some of the items in the goody bags....all pertaining to baseball. I used the Sporting stamp set once again.
We also had cracker jacks and a baseball in the goody bag, but I didn't do anything to jazz them up:)
The next pictures are of my family and I at the Twins game. We went July 2, got to ride on the train to the game, experience the beauty of Target Field (it was nice out, so very enjoyable!), the Twins won and we saw a great show of fireworks after. It was a great treat for all of us!
We are waiting for the train to arrive....
