School Projects & The Big Shot

Stampin' Up's Alphabet Simple Letters and Numbers for the Big Shot work great for school projects! This is a picture of my 6 year old son. He had to make a "me" poster. He drew the face, colored the shoes and picked out what pictures he wanted, but left the rest up to me! So, I decided to put the Big Shot to use to make the poster. He did not want to draw his hair on the head, which I understood since his hair is almost white and cut so short, it wouldn't even had showed up!:) I had the idea of adding the Twins baseball hat since he (and our whole family) is a big fan of the Twins. The modern label punch was used to label each picture.

Sew....

I've seen many cards where people had sewn on them. I love the look and wanted to try it myself. So, I got out my sewing machine and my son (6 years old) said, "I didn't know you had one of those." I guess it has been way too long since I've sewn:) Now, I just need a spot where I can keep my sewing machine out so I use it more! That will probably not happen as I use every little space I have and then some!

I decided to do a pocket card and sew the sides. The Razzleberry designer paper with all of its colors make this card lovely. I also used the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and modern label punch as well. If you like to sew, try it on your cards!

Coaster Scrapbook

This is a scrapbook that I made for Steve for Father's day a couple of years ago. It is made by covering 4x4 coasters with designer paper. I had the kids journal on "their" page and made the journaling block using the spiral punch. The tabs were made with the Round Tab punch. Various SU! ribbons were tied on the binder rings to decorate them. This is a quick and easy scrapbook to do. At Lily's 7th birthday party, I had each of the girls make a scrapbook like this and then cut pictures from the birthday party for the girls to add to their book. This would be easy to make into a Christmas scrapbook and give to Grandma & Grandpa!

Matchbox Die

Animal crackers are fitting for this designer paper (Tall Tales). This was made using the Matchbox Die and Movers and Shapers Die. I used clear acetate for the window. There are so many fun little items you can put in a matchbox like this!

Spooky Treats #2

Here are the last projects that will be made at my upcoming Spooky Treats Class.

A pencil holder for those who want to give out healthier treats. However, it could easily hold pixie sticks....those are healthy, right?!? This uses Cast-a-Spell Designer Paper and Batty for You stamp set.

This next project is a matchbook that holds snack size m&m bags. I'm sure Skittles would work, too. It has a "belly band" wrapped around the middle. This idea was taken from a demo on splitcoaststampers.

The last project is optional, but I LOVE it. I bought a candy jar at Target, then added the Spooky Spider decor element to it and tied some ribbon on the lid. It looks great and took about 5 minutes to make! Candy for halloween will look fabulous in it. Now, I just need to figure out how to keep my kids and me out of the candy jar once it is filled!
