Birthday Beauty Tent Topper

This card is just like yesterday's post except it is for a girl! The princess's dress is paper pieced using Georgia Peach designer paper. It is so easy to make a card where all the items match since SU products (cardstock, designer paper, ribbon, ink, etc.) all coordinate!
Supplies
Stamp Sets: Birthday Beauty
Cardstock: Regal Rose, Whisper White
Ink: Basic Black, Markers
Accessories: scallop border punch, slit punch, white gel pen, glitter, rose grosgrain

Ahoy Matey

This set is perfect for boys! This set actually belongs to my son, but I "borrow" it from him:) This card layout is a tent topper card with a pocket. This pocket has another piece of cardstock in it to write a message and it also works great to hold a gift card or money. The Ahoy Matey set is retiring, so if you like it, get it before it is gone!
Recipe
Stamp Set: Ahoy Matey
Cardstock: Brilliant Blue, Wild Wasabi (retired), Whisper White, Retired Designer Paper
Ink: Basic Black, Wild Wasabi, White Craft, Markers
Accessories: Pumpkin Pie Striped Grosgrain, Distressing Tool

Always Thank You

Up to this point, I have had a hard time using the set Always. It is a popular set, but I never seemed to be successful at using it and didn't take the time to "play" around with it. One of the obstacles is that I don't want to cut the bird out. My friend, Brenda, gave me a Christmas card with the bird from Always and I used the layout to turn it into a Thank You card. I resisted ordering the Bella Rose Designer Paper, but I love the colors in it, so I got my color inspiration from that pack of paper. I can now see me using this set more often:)

Supplies:
Stamp Set: Always, Short & Sweet
Ink: Pink Pirouette, Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red, Basic Black
Cardstock: Pink Pirouette, Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red
Accessories: Kiwi Kiss Striped Ribbon, Riding Hood Red Taffeta, Scallop Border Punch, Oval Punches

Merry Christmas!

I really hope you are not reading my blog today, but instead are spending it with your family and celebrating the birth of our Savior, Jesus. I scheduled this post for today, so I'm actually not on the computer:) I saw someone else make Christmas ornaments using their top note and pictures, so I thought I would try it. The black and white one is of my 2 kids a few years ago and the family picture is our 2008 Christmas card picture. My son, Noah, thought we should send out the black and white picture this year because he really liked that one. The only problem was is that it is minus his little brother! That didn't seem to bother him:)

Glass Ornament

I apologize for the quality of the picture, but I wanted to show you a way to use rub-ons to make a fun and easy ornament. These rub-ons are from SAB last year (get ready for SAB coming this year starting in Feb!). Just take the rub-ons and CAREFULLY rub them onto the ornament. It is a little tricky with the round edges, but if you go slowly, it works. Then take small pieces of designer paper and wrap around a pen, pencil or something similar to get the paper "curled". Put the paper inside the ornament and tie on some matching ribbon.

Open House Project #1

Here is a picture of one of the projects that will be available for you to make at my open house on Friday. This is made using the top note die. As you can see from the side view, the top notes are connected to a small bag which can be used to hold candies or a small gift for Christmas. The directions for this are posted on this blog here.

2009 Calendar

Here are pictures of a desktop version of the 2009 calendar kit from Stampin' Up!. I CASED this from here. On the side view picture you can see a pocket that holds die cuts you can use to decorate the calendar and use as reminders of important dates.
